EcoArts Fest: Eco-Friendly Bug Puppets

with Gustavo Boada

Free

Insects are our friends. Almost all insects found in our gardens are useful. Only 1% of all insects are harmful. Work with artist Gustavo Boada and discover how many six-legged friends play an important role in our gardens from the green lacewing to the Rusty patch bee. Learn how to create an easy eco-friendly “bug” rod puppet using creative materials destined for the landfill.

Art materials provided in a free family art kit available for pick-up at ArtStart's ArtScraps in St. Paul.

This class is part of ArtStart's annual EcoArts Fest. In a partnership with the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge ArtStart’s EcoArts Fest has become a tradition. Originally, a 1-day event that brought local schools, families, artists and performers to the MN Valley National Wildlife Refuge to celebrate our close connection to nature through the arts, the EcoArts Fest has transformed into a 3-part festival this year and will be held May 17 - 23, 2021. Learn about additional activities at artstart.org/ecoarts-fest.
